On Tuesday, 19 May, get a chance to meet an IT billionare and discover the record-breaking success story of the country’s first digital IPO.
Nine years ago, the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP) was launched in the Philippines. Its roster of founding members include the country’s acknowledged digital experts.
One of those is Nico Jose Nolledo, Nix to friends. Self-made success story, Nolledo’s journey started in a crammed room in his parents’ house—tapping away at what would be Pinoy Exchange, the country’s pioneer eCommerce company.
Nolledo and his co-crammer friends soon opened Xurpas Inc. And the rest, as they say is history.
In December 2014, Xurpas became the first tech company to list its shares in the Philippine Stock Exchange. Xurpas broke all records, becoming the first IPO to open at ceiling price, and ‘with the lowest value turnover’.
With their company’s market capitalization at P6.8 billion, each gets a 26 percent stake equivalent to P1.7 billion worth of shares, making Nolledo and co-founders Raymond Gerard Racaza and Fernando Jude Garcia billionaires.
Join us as Nix Nolledo talks on The Innovation Economy on Tuesday, 19 May at SMX Aura at 6:30pm. Each IMMAP member company gets 2 free tickets. For additional tickets, IMMAP members can reserve tickets at P200.00 each. Email email@example.com or mobile 0917.841.4627
