IMMAP Boomerang Awards competition heats up
MANILA Following last year’s postponement due to the ongoing global pandemic, the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP) 2021 s proud to announce the return of the Philippines’ leading Digital Award, the Boomerang Awards! In recognition of the Booms returning and the industry bouncing back following 2020’s challenges, this year’s Boomerang Awards is being held under the theme of “Unmute”, with participants and audience alike being invited to “Make some noise!”
With equal emphasis being placed on creativity and effectiveness in this year’s competition, the juries have been divided between Google Regional Strategic Partnership Lead Anton Reyniers (serving as Jury Head for Creative), and Facebook Head of Creative Shop SEA Rafael Guida (serving as Jury Head for Tech). Set to be presented as the culminating event of the 2021 DigiCon, the Booms have entered the last stage of judging – as of this writing, 163 out of 427 entries have made it through the initial round to qualify as Finalists.
This year’s Finalists will have added incentive to celebrate as, for the first time ever, the recipient of Best Of Show – in addition to being recognized as being among the best in the country –will be honored with one fully sponsored entry to compete at the 2022 Cannes International Festival of Creativity!
Adding to the excitement, IMMAP will be introducing two new awards in the forms of the Purple Boomerang and the Blue Impact Boomerang.
Presented in association with the Investing in Women initiative of the Australian government’s efforts to promote gender equality, the inaugural Purple Boomerang will honor campaigns that go beyond stereotypical depictions of women in society, while the other new addition, the Blue Impact Boomerang will go to the campaigns or executions that made the best use of Facebook to craft “people-first” executions, with emphasis on innovation and overall impact.
With the Boomerang Awards: Unmute! set to serve as the grand follow up to the fifth and final day of DigiCon’s highly-anticipated series of industry talks, workshops, and seminars, this is one award show you won’t want to just hear about!
